At the beginning of the year, an earthquake in the northeast of the country injured around 150 people. Now the earth is moving again.
Tokyo (dpa) – A 6.0 magnitude earthquake shook northeastern Japan. Its center was off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at a depth of 40 kilometers, as the Meteorological Authority announced.
There is no danger of a tsunami. There were initially no reports of damage or injuries. Ten years ago, the same region was struck by a tsunami that left thousands dead. A disaster occurred at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Recently, the region has been repeatedly hit by earthquakes. Around 150 people were injured in February.
