Curly hair in dogs has many advantages, as they lose much less hair (almost nothing, in fact) and makes them withstand low temperatures well, as it is a hard and dense coat. However, despite the scarce shedding that occurs in these dogs, they also need frequent brushing, as canine stylist Mª Ángeles Gutiérrez tells us in the video.
For our dog's coat to be healthy, and not only in the case of curly-haired dogs, we must know that food plays a fundamental role. A high-quality, high-protein diet will ensure that our dog's hair and skin are healthy, that there will not be so many tangles and that his skin will not suffer serious problems.
Another important factor is the products we use to bathe our dog, especially if our best friend suffers from some type of allergy. First of all, we must consult with the veterinarian to tell us what type of shampoo is ideal for our pet.
As for brushing, it is good to establish the habit of carrying it out once a week, so our dog will take it as usual and it will not be a difficult time.
