Daimler AG sells plant in Brazil

Daimler AG has sold a plant in Brazil to “Great Wall Motor Co Ltd”. The reason for the sale is, among other things, the effects of the corona pandemic.

Stuttgart / Iracemápolis – By the end of 2021, Daimler AG wants to have concluded the deal with “Great Wall Motor Co Ltd”. The Chinese group wants to expand its international network with the acquisition of the plant in Iracemápolis. The exact purchase price is not known. Daimler had already announced in December 2020 that it would cut back car production in Brazil and close the plant in Iracemápolis. The reason is the falling sales of luxury cars during the corona pandemic. According to the Stuttgart-based car maker, this would have made maintaining the plant unsustainable.
As BW24 * reveals, Daimler is selling an entire plant to a Chinese car manufacturer. The staff is not taken over.
After the handover of the plant, "Great Wall Motor" plans to introduce advanced concepts in the areas of production management, quality control, environmental protection and information management and to expand the plant into an intelligent production base. * BW24 is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
