A study by the University of Lincoln and the University of Sao Paulo showed that dogs are capable of interpreting our moods. The 17 dogs in the experiment did not have time to become familiar with the chosen humans. They responded to an association of emotional signals without this conditioning factor. It is an ability of the animal itself . Probably motivated by the long relationship with humans for centuries.
