Mel B draws attention to domestic violence in a short film

The British singer says she has a mission. She is committed to women who experience abuse and violence.

London (AP) – The British singer Mel B drew attention to domestic violence against women in a newly released short film.

"It seems funny to say that I'm proud to show something so brutal and disturbing," said the former Spice Girls singer (45) of the British news agency PA. "But my mission is to bring attention to what so many women experience every day, every week, every month of their lives."

In the almost five-minute film with several dance scenes, which is accompanied by music by the British-Italian pianist and composer Fabio D'Andrea, Mel B plays a woman who is repeatedly abused and injured by her partner. The singer had previously reported her own experiences of abuse and was involved in the aid organization Women's Aid, which is also involved in the film.
