Construction work on the Stuttgart 21 megaproject has been going on for over ten years. The state government has now decided on further additions – the city feels left out.
Stuttgart – Construction work on the Stuttgart 21 megaproject has been ongoing since 2010. In 2025, the controversial rail project between Ulm and the state capital should finally be completed. In the coalition agreement of the new state government, however, further additions to the previous plans were decided. Because the project may already reach its limits when it is completed, an additional station is to be built by 2040. Stuttgart's Lord Mayor Frank Nopper criticized the decision and said the state had passed over the city. In addition, the CDU politician referred to the previously concluded contracts. As BW24 * reports, the "additional station" can delay the completion of Stuttgart 21 according to OB Nopper.
The Stuttgart 21 rail project was presented in 1994, and costs have risen steadily since then (BW24 * reported). * BW24 is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
