The cars, drivers and results of Minardi in Formula 1

In the early 2000s, Paul Stoddart had managed to save Minardi by taking over the Italian team, achieving the near miracle of keeping it in Formula 1 until 2005. The Australian then sold the structure to Red Bull, who turned it into his ‘B’ team racing first as Toro Rosso and then, at present, as AlphaTauri.

The history of the team from Faenza , under the name of its founder Giancarlo Minardi , lasted in Formula 1 for 20 years, from 1985 to 2005. Often relegated to the back of the grid, the small team was conspicuous by its positive state of mind and for some outstanding moments that turned points into a taste of victory.

Minardi disputed 340 grand prizes in F1, achieving 38 points and being the first team and springboard for young drivers who reached the top of motorsport (for example, it is the team with which Fernando Alonso made his debut). To go back in time, relive its history through the team’s 21 seasons and discover which four Spanish drivers were with them in addition to the Asturian.
