Toddler in England dies after gas explosion

In England a toddler died in a house collapse. The police assume a previous gas explosion.

Heysham (AP) – Presumably a gas explosion has brought two houses to collapse in England. In the incident in the village of Heysham near Lancaster, a small child was killed, as the police in the northwestern English county of Lancashire said.

Four other people were injured, two of them seriously.

The collapsed buildings were terraced houses, said the fire department in Lancashire, which had sent ten emergency vehicles to the scene of the accident. The energy company Electricity North West announced on Twitter that it would switch off the power supply in the affected area for the time being.
