Formula 1 fans participated in recent days in a series of votes to choose the best overtaking of the 2021 season through the social networks of the highest category of motorsport.

The format that was used was eliminatory and in the grand finale Lando Norris overtook Charles Leclerc in the Italian Grand Prix and Max Verstappen over Lewis Hamilton who defined the title in the Abu Abu Dhabi Grand Prix .

The movement of the McLaren driver took victory with 53.8% of the vote against the 46.2% that remained in the hands of the Dutchman, that after registering a total of 76,130 votes.

The action for which Norris was awarded took place at the restart of the Italian Grand Prix after race management withdrew the safety car after the famous and controversial accident between Hamilton and Verstappen, where both drivers were eliminated.

When the green flag waved again at Monza, Ricciardo was in the lead while behind were Leclerc and Norris . But the Woking-based Brit attacked the Monegasque’s position to reclaim second place in what was the team’s first double since 2010.

“I think it’s been a great weekend. When I came to McLaren four years ago our aim was to have moments like this, and today we got this 1-2,” Norris said after Ricciardo took victory.

“Obviously as a driver you always aspire to win, but I’m part of a team and today couldn’t have gone better for us. I’m very happy with this second place and I’m sure my chance will come soon.”
