It is one of the most closely watched sporting events in England (250,000 live and 130 million viewers worldwide), along with the English Soccer Cup final, the Grand National and the final of the London tennis tournament. Wimbledon, and the last edition held made it number 150. The first regatta between rival college crews was held 175 years ago , although it did not acquire its current annual cadence until 1856 . The test was born from the idea of two friends who were studying at both universities, and it was so successful that they decided to continue it. That's why only Oxford students, dressed in dark blue, and Cambridge, in light blue, participate. The only time it ended in a draw was in 1877 and Cambridge leads Oxford in the overall count with 78 victories to 71.
