On June 17, 2007, Marc Márquez achieved his first victory in the Spanish Speed Championship, a competition currently known as JuniorGP.

That young driver, a native of Cervera -Barcelona-, debuted at just 13 years old in a discipline that crossed his path to completely change the course of his life. Coming from several Catalan speed championships, the Spaniard embarked on the CEV to take a step further in his career.

During these years, Marc Márquez was part of the Monlau Competición team, under the guidance of his current manager, Emilio Alzamora. This victory coincided with the first podium for the rider from Cervera, who that summer, fifteen years ago, began to forge an unparalleled path in the history of two wheels.

His victory in Jerez came after his first pole, just a month earlier at Montmeló, his home circuit. This was the second and last season for Marc Márquez in the championship organized by the FIM.

The effort and natural talent of the Spanish rider bore its first fruits, and Marc Márquez catapulted himself to the World Championship, where he signed his first victory in 125cc . At that time, the current Repsol rider was at the controls of a 2-stroke, 6-speed, single-cylinder KTM FRR.

That year coincided with Marc’s first episode of diplopia, diagnosed in October during qualifying training in Valencia. As a consequence, the Spanish driver was unable to participate in the fifth race, held at the Albacete Circuit.

Currently, the name of Marc Márquez appears as an indefinite loss in the Motorcycle World Championship. The Honda rider was forced to pause his path as a rider and this weekend he is not competing at the Sachsenring, due to the fourth operation he has had to undergo.

Thus, the rider from Cervera and eight-time world champion continues the rehabilitation process to ensure that his fractured humerus heals completely.
