The beef is the second most expensive bull of its breed that has ever been sold. He comes from the stable of an Allgäu breeder and is supposed to provide many strong offspring.

Weilheim in Upper Bavaria – 505 kilos, 11 months old, 159,000 euros expensive: Senator is the new record transfer in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria. “It is the second highest price that has ever been paid for a Fleckvieh bull,” says the marketing manager of the Weilheim breeders’ associations, Eva Espert.

According to Espert, the price is also the second highest in the world, but the animals are mainly traded in Germany and Austria. First the “Allgäuer Zeitung” reported.

At the breeding cattle market on October 7th, the North Swabian insemination association paid this proud value for the cattle to a breeder from Allgäu – in the hope that this investment through Senator’s sperm will pay off. “His very famous, well-tested father Sisyphus was already with us,” says the managing director of the insemination association, Frank Bosselmann. “He’s like an old Mercedes now – no longer sexy, but rock solid.” Son Senator’s genes give great hope for healthy, productive offspring, says Bosselmann. dpa
