2021 work calendar: All national holidays and bridges

The 2021 work calendar establishes that there are 11 holidays throughout the year, while in 2020 there were 13. In addition, of the 11 holidays, only 8 are celebrated jointly throughout the Spanish geography. They are as follows:

  • 1 of January New Year)
  • April 2 (Good Friday)
  • May 1 (Labor Festival)
  • October 12 (National Holiday of Spain)
  • November 1 (All Saints)
  • December 6 (Spanish Constitution Day)
  • December 8 (Immaculate Conception)
  • 25th December, Christmas)

Regarding the remaining three, each autonomous community has the power to decide whether or not to move their celebration to another date :

  • January 6 (Kings)
  • April 1 (Holy Thursday)
  • August 16 (Assumption of the Virgin)

The remaining bridges of 2021

Regarding the bridges , which usually occur when the holiday falls on Thursday or Friday, at the weekend, or also, Monday or Tuesday, this 2021 there are some that will be national.

October 12 °

This year October 12 falls on a Tuesday , so many people will be able to enjoy four days of festivities. They will leave work on Friday and will not return until Wednesday.

December 6 and 8

Looking at the month of December, Constitution Day (December 6) falls on Tuesday, while Immaculate Day (December 8) falls on Wednesday. Therefore, there will be those who enjoy five holidays.

The 2022 working calendar, with its long weekends and holidays, will be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) at the end of the year. However, some communities have already published their list of holidays, as is the case of Andalusia:

  • April 14 (Holy Thursday)
  • April 15 (Good Friday)
  • May 2 (Labor Festival) -May 1 falls on Sunday and moves to Monday.
  • August 15 (Day of the Assumption of the Virgin)
  • October 12 (National Holiday of Spain)
  • November 1 (All Saints’ Day)
  • December 6 (Constitution Day)
  • December 8 (Immaculate Day)
  • December 26 (Christmas) – December 25 falls on a Sunday and moves to Monday.
