40 pilots face Rossi in the 100 kilometers of the champions

0

Last week, Jorge Lorenzo announced that he would be among the participants in the 2021 edition of the 100 kilometers of the champions, the flat track race that is held at the Valentino Rossi Ranch in Tavullia and that has become a classic at end of the year

For this seventh edition, the year in which he said goodbye to MotoGP, Il Dottore has decided to do things in a big way, with a list of 41 registered riders – including himself – both speed and off-road , which is really impressive seeing all the names.

In addition to the nine-time world champion and the five-time Mallorcan champion, six other riders who have raced in MotoGP this season or will do so next will take part. The list includes Álex Rins, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Iker Lecuona, Luca Marini, Marco Bezzecchi and Maverick Viñales .

Among the great absences, two regulars of the test and members of the VR46 Academy stand out : Pecco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli. The current world runner-up has just undergone surgery to remove the plate that he had been wearing on his leg since he was injured in 2020, while the Italian-Brazilian has decided to take the winter to fully recover from the knee operated on this year and which caused him to miss part of the season.

There is also no shortage of WorldSBK riders, such as Chaz Davies , who, like Rossi, has decided to hang up his helmet at the end of this year. Also another former MotoGP rider like Tito Rabat and the young Axel Bassani .

In addition, Moto2 will include Albert Arenas, Augusto Fernández, Celestino Vietti, Jake Dixon, Lorenzo Baldassarri and Stefano Manzi . Other stars from different specialties appear in the complete list. The 100 kilometers of the champions will be held this Saturday and Sunday, December 4 and 5.
