5 Theme Park Resolutions to Save Money

0

If it’s your New Year’s resolution to take that Florida theme park vacation this coming year, here are five more resolutions you need to make to get it done on a dime.

I will buy discounted theme park tickets before I leave home. Almost all theme parks offer discounts for advance online admission purchases. In addition, many also offer seasonal special prices and deals throughout the year. For example, save an additional $ 15 on LEGOLAND Florida Early Admission Tickets by specifying what date you plan to attend. If you purchased SeaWorld Orlando Annual Passes today, you’ll find an amazing free buy one get one offer online. If you plan to spend more than one day in the area, consider multi-day tickets that also offer a discount.

Read the details carefully. You may find that tickets purchased online must be used within a certain period of time or contain blackout dates.

I will limit additional purchases at theme parks. While theme park ticket prices have been flat for nearly a year, all parks have been busy adding amenities that add to the overall ticket price. These add-ons range from meal deals to front-line passes, like the Universal Orlando Express Pass. These are easy decisions for me. The food deals offer too much food for the light eaters in our family, so it’s easy to overlook. If we plan our visit to the theme park during the less crowded times of the year, that could eliminate the need to buy front-line passes.

I will bring my own camera and take my own photos. Most theme parks now offer photography services. Busch Gardens and SeaWorld have launched PhotoKey and Disney’s PhotoPass has been around for years. While it’s more convenient not to carry a camera and you don’t have to ask a complete stranger to take a picture of your family, photos are quite expensive and it’s hard to resist buying them all. None of us leave home without our phones these days and since they now take incredibly sharp photos, there is no camera to charge.

I will provide my own needs and extras. Whether you bring a refillable water bottle, snacks, or a stroller for the grandchild, I will bring it and pay nothing you can provide. This should also apply to those who need a wheelchair. If you don’t like the taste of tap water, buy bottled water elsewhere (preferably by case) and bring it with you. Anything is cheaper than the usual $ 2.50 per bottle that is typical of theme park prices.

And finally…

I will explore vacation options that do not include theme parks. There is a great beautiful Florida located beyond the theme parks. Plan your next vacation without the theme parks and enjoy Florida’s magnificent beaches or go camping in Florida’s award-winning state parks. Even if you feel like you must go to Disney World… forget the theme parks because there are wonderful experiences awaiting you at your Disney resort hotel: unique pools, game rooms, carriage rides, character dinners and more.
