A beam falls during construction of the new Felipe Ángeles Airport

A road distributor beam of the bridge of the new Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) collapsed and impacted three others in the Lago de Guadalupe-Texcoco section of the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense (CEM), in which incident a worker lost his life.

The Aleatica company, concessionaire of said circuit, confirmed the fact and activated security protocols and subsequently notified the Civil Protection of the incident.

According to reports, the fall of the trabe was opened in the early hours of this Saturday. Preliminary reports indicate that the accident occurred when the workers were trying to place the fourth concrete tower on supports 5 and 6 of strip 290, of the road.

The work on the Lago de Guadalupe-Texcoco section is one of the alternate routes built to facilitate interconnection with the AIFA, an airport that will be inaugurated on March 21. The airlines that will fly in Santa Lucía are Aeroméxico, Volaris, Viva Aerobus, Conviasa.
