More and more proposals are being offered by some towns in emptied Spain to attract new neighbors. In this case, Griegos, a town in Teruel , is looking for families with children and offers free rent and work.
All this with the “exchange” that families with children who come to live in the town help to maintain the local school. In fact, they are different initiatives that come from various places to occupy populations that are becoming uninhabited.
This town is between Teruel and Cuenca, and has the objective of expanding the classes available at the school. Currently it only has 9 students, as other media collect and therefore falls within a need, otherwise the school could disappear, in the same way as other existing services.
What does this town of Teruel offer?
In return, this population has made a call to give housing and work to those families who come to Greeks and, of course, enroll their children in school.
Thanks to this, the town council hopes to increase the number of students. This would reach 12 children and then open 2 primary classes.
What work is offered to families?
As we have pointed out, those who come with children have free accommodation and will also be able to work in the hospitality industry. It would be about working in the local restaurant and also in the municipal hotel.
It is, then, a good opportunity for families who do not have a job at the moment and who cannot pay a rent, something that is quite complicated in certain parts of Spain, at the moment.
Regarding the rent to live, the municipality of Griegos will give a rent of 225 euros per month, highlighting that the first three months are free. In addition to other advantages that the city council will transfer to the families in each case.
Although it is something new that has just been launched, many families are finding out and the city council is already receiving people interested in this offer . With this announcement, the town becomes better known and will be able to comply with what is established.
The truth is that it is not an initiative of now, because both here and in other countries where there are almost uninhabited areas, that if the number of people who leave increases, they could disappear.
