Before the pandemic, Hamburg was a popular holiday destination. This is where the Hanseatic city wants to return. Currently, the number of guests leaves a lot to be desired despite a slight increase.
Hamburg – Tourism in Hamburg is slowly recovering, but is still a long way from being back to the level it was before Corona. The number of guests in 2020 was roughly halved compared to the previous year.

Traveling was difficult because of numerous lockdowns. Hamburg also felt this and had to record a sharp drop in tourist numbers. In September 2020 alone there were only half as many visitors as in September 2019. In the meantime, however, the trend is back in an upward direction.
