All Saints’ Day on November 1st is a public holiday in five federal states – including in North Rhine-Westphalia. How are bakers affected? Are they allowed to open?

Cologne – On Tuesday, November 1st, most shops in North Rhine-Westphalia will be closed due to the All Saints’ Day holiday. However, there are exceptions for bakeries and pastry shops and other shops.
24RHEIN shows how long bakeries in NRW are allowed to open on All Saints’ Day.

Incidentally, All Saints’ Day is not only a public holiday in NRW, but also in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. However, depending on the country, different laws apply to shop opening hours on public holidays. (nb)
