Frankfurt / Berlin – There is little dynamic in the seven-day incidence in Germany. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated the value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Tuesday morning (October 12, 2021) as 65.8.

For comparison: on Monday (October 11th, 2021) the corona value was 66.5, a week ago it was 63.6 (previous month: 80.2). The health authorities in Germany reported 4971 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:19 a.m. A week ago the value was 4799 infections.

Corona number of cases in Germany: 88 deaths in 24 hours

According to the new information, 88 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 90 deaths. The RKI has counted 4,318,355 detected infections with Sars-Cov-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The RKI stated the number of people recovered as 4,106,300. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-Cov-2 rose to 94,297.

Corona case numbers in Germany: Incidence of hospitalization from Monday (11.10.2021)

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – was given by the RKI on Monday as 1.58 (Friday: 1.67).

A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time. Since Monday (October 11th, 2021), most people have to pay for corona tests, which is likely to be expensive, especially for those who have not been vaccinated. (jey / dpa)
