The Alpine team presented this Monday the A522 with which Ocon and Alonso will compete in the 2022 season, a predominantly electric blue car with important details of the pink of its main sponsor, BWT .

However, the French team has revealed that it will start the season with another livery, a completely pink one reminiscent of the BWT stage with Racing Point. That version was leaked before we saw the A522, and when they finally unveiled the electric blue car (Alpine’s representative color) alongside Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, the team revealed that the pink livery would be used in “the first two races”.

That is to say, in the Bahrain GP that opens the course and the Saudi Arabian GP that follows, Alpine will compete with a pink A522.

“Why have one livery when you can have two? Introducing our season opener BWT spec livery,” Alpine posted on social media.

In a statement, Alpine explained its two liveries: “The A522 maintains its striking blue Alpine livery, alongside the iconic pink colors of BWT, the team’s recently announced lead partner for 2022.”

“In a turn of events, the BWT Alpine F1 Team also introduced an ‘inverted’ livery with pink as the most prominent colour. This unique livery will be used for the first two races of the season, highlighting the new partnership with title partner BWT “.

Although they have not revealed their plans for the pre-season tests that start this Wednesday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, it is expected that the pink livery will also be used for those tests in Montmeló.

Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi said: “It is with great pleasure that we present our A522 to the world today, kicking off the next chapter in Alpine’s journey in Formula 1. We are proud competitors and have poured the essence of heritage and passion of Alpine racing in this new generation of cars. We have a clear plan and vision, and we have some of the best people to help drive us forward and make our ambitions a reality.”

For his part, but without referring to the pink version, Fernando Alonso commented: “The car looks fantastic with the new rules and I like the new livery. We have a new engine and we are sure that we had a good development for this new generation of We won’t know where everyone is until Bahrain, but we’re excited to test the car for the first time this week.”
