AlphaTauri; presentation date of his F1 2022: February 14

There are around two months left for the 2022 Formula 1 world championship to start, but this period in which all the teams announce the presentation date of their new cars is hectic.

AlphaTauri revealed today the day that we will know its new single-seater for the 2022 season. The Honda-powered AT03 will see the light of day on Monday, February 14, Valentine’s Day . Initially, the plans for the Faenza-based team were to present the car on Sunday the 13th. However, with the shakedown date changed, they pushed it back to the 14th.

There is a lot of expectation and enthusiasm about the AT03 and the team led by Franz Tost , since after two years like 2020 and 2021, AlphaTauri is undoubtedly considered one of the favorites to lead the middle zone.

The AT03, however, will not build on the excellent foundation of the AT01 and AT02 . The new regulations will force all the teams to redesign the cars, which means that AlphaTauri will have to unleash all its imagination to remain a team with great ambitions, to fight to be in the top 5 of the constructors’ world championship. .

The team will be represented for the second consecutive time by the pair formed by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda. The French driver has already become not only a pillar of the Italian-Austrian team, but also one of the drivers who shone the most in 2021. He demonstrated this with the podiums achieved in just over two seasons with the team after the bitter Red Bull relegation, with the splendid victory in Monza and 2020 and above all with a remarkable and very consistent performance last year.

For the Japanese, however, 2021 was full of lights and shadows. But, it must be remembered, Tsunoda was in his debut year in Formula 1 and not everyone can arrive and have an impact like the one Lewis Hamilton had in 2007, to give a striking example. Tsunoda alternated excellent performances with moments in which he chained error after error. The team supported him and renewed him. This year he will have to show that he has grown and that he can be a worthy partner for Gasly and not just be flashy.
