In a season characterized by competition on the track, the test day in Jerez helped riders and teams gather information about the prototypes that make up the MotoGP starting grid.

In the Repsol Honda Team garage, the struggle to find a solution to an indomitable front end was the protagonist of Monday’s test at the circuit in the south of Spain. The golden wing box had three bikes for its eighth champion, quickly discarding one of them and squeezing the most out of two of the prototypes. With these premises, Marc Márquez could be seen rolling with the aerodynamics of the previous course, in search of finding less load and better sensations with the train of his RC213V .

Honda was nominated as the brand with the most laps, with the #93 signing more than sixty laps and Pol Espargaró with a total of 85 completed on the Andalusian track.

Also on the way to a fix for rear grip issues is KTM , which brought with it longer exhausts and an all-dark fairing. Changes to the fairing also showed Enea Bastianini’s Ducati, with an air intake more advanced than his 2021 one.

The current Moto2 champion, Remy Gardner, debuted the 2022 swingarm that his teammates Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira already have in the official team.

Regarding the factory of the tuning forks not much information is collected. Yamaha didn’t bring any big innovations, and it was reduced to the introduction of a new swingarm and finding better grip for the M1.

As with the Iwata brand, Suzuki rider Joan Mir put his GSX-RR through testing and tested a completely different swingarm than previously picked up.

Finally, in Aprilia they fought to correct the clutch problems that affected Aleix Espargaró during the Spanish Grand Prix, an appointment in which he starred in a battle against Marc Márquez and Jack Miller. They also studied the aerodynamics of the RS-GP and a new swingarm.
