US millionaire Robert Durst faces a murder charge. 40 years ago his then wife disappeared. The 78-year-old has just been convicted – also of murder.
New York – US millionaire Robert Durst (78), who has just been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a friend, has to answer for another incident in court.
The District Attorney’s Office in Westchester, New York, announced on Monday that it had filed a lawsuit against Durst over the disappearance of his then-wife, Kathie McCormack Durst, almost 40 years ago. The case had caused quite a stir in the United States at the time, but McCormack Durst’s body had never been found – and no charges related to her disappearance had ever been brought.
In October, Los Angeles real estate heir, Durst, was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for the murder of a friend over 20 years ago. He had previously been found guilty by a jury of having shot and killed his friend Susan Berman at her Beverly Hills home over the Christmas period of 2000. dpa
