Munich – Mowgli the cat has been traveling the world on a motorcycle for years. Her owner Martin Klauka left Rosenheim (Bavaria) about four years ago, and both are currently in India at the foot of the Himalayas, as Klauka told the dpa.
“I wanted to get out of everyday life for a while, wanted to see what life has in store for you.” He traveled to India with Mowgli via the Balkans, Turkey, Dubai, Iran and other countries. The 35-year-old was there in the middle of the pandemic. He avoided the areas where the virus was particularly bad.
Will Mowgli enjoy the trip? “She doesn’t love directly, but she doesn’t know any other way,” said Klauka on the phone. He always makes sure that she feels safe. “Then she won’t run away either. She’s got her routine, sniffing around. ”He built an air conditioner into her motorcycle bag.
Klauka cannot currently imagine returning to “normal” life in Germany. This is not the right place for an alternative life, “the fixed costs eat you up,” he said, who has also written a book about his trip. When asked what he lived on, he told the “Focus”: from savings, jobs, his book and financial support from friends and families, for example.
