Baby dies in clinic from serious injuries – father urgently suspect

An infant a little over a month old died from his severe injuries in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Clinic. The father is an urgent suspect – and is now in custody.

Oberammergau – A tragic incident took place on Monday (February 28) in Oberammergau, Upper Bavaria: the rescue service came across a lifeless infant in an asylum seeker’s accommodation. The little girl died a little later. The father is an urgent suspect. That’s what the police report.

The one-month-old child was admitted to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Clinic on Monday with ongoing resuscitation. But the doctors’ efforts were in vain: the little girl died that same evening. The baby’s 25-year-old father is now suspected of killing the little girl.

An autopsy of the corpse gave clear indications that the child died as a result of violence. According to the police report, investigators are currently assuming that the fatal injuries were caused by violent shaking and blunt force to the head. The 25-year-old father is now in custody.

As can be seen from a statement from the hospital, the Weilheim Criminal Investigation Service initially took over the initial investigations to clarify the cause of death. These were continued by the Garmisch-Partenkirchen criminal police station, under the direction of the Munich II public prosecutor’s office.
