In the Ducati box they are aware that the Sachsenring is not the best setting for the Italian factory. However, the hope of the team will feed on the results obtained, in the past, by its spearhead.

In 2021, Pecco Bagnaia managed to secure fifth position after starting 16th on the grid, a comeback that filled the Ducati box with motivation.

With these premises, the manufacturer from Borgo Panigale will try to do its best to improve that position, facing a difficult weekend in which regularity and an effective strategy will be the secret to savor the podium of the premier class again.

“I’ve really enjoyed the tests,” said Pecco. “It was wonderful to forget what had happened the day before and confirm that I want to think about the races afterward,” added the Turin driver during the official press conference for the German Grand Prix.

“This is a difficult circuit for Ducati to date, but last year in the race I started to be quite competitive and I was riding at ease. I think it could be a good weekend for us,” he recalled.

In the first half of the season, Pecco Bagnaia has recovered 44 points, currently 66 behind the leader, Fabio Quartararo.

“Last year I had the ambition to win the championship, this year the ambition is high and the potential too. However, Fabio [Quartararo] is the biggest on the track, he drives super well and we can be a good opponent for him.” .

“I am hopeful that the work we are doing will help me in these two races before the break,” the Italian ventured. “But getting back 66 points right now is going to be tough for us. Still, we have a chance mathematically.”

Regarding the departure of his boxing partner, Jack Miller, the Italian pilot showed what he expects from the new member.

“I want to wish Miller the best in the new chapter that he opens. I think it will be very strong, like now.”

“I hope that my new partner is a person who understands our way of working and who does not start to generate nervousness in the box. [I hope] that he wants to collaborate and improve together. That is the key that allows us to improve as of today at Ducati”, assured the Italian.
