The winter tests will be held from February 23 to 25 , both included, at which time teams and drivers will test their new cars for the next season for the first time. It will be the fifth time that F1 has contested part of its winter tests in that country, after the 2011, 2014, 2021 and 2022 editions.
Comparing it to this year’s pre-season testing, the number of testing days will be halved in 2023, as in 2022 the teams had the opportunity to run a first three-day test at Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya before travel to Bahrain. However, this winter the Spanish route will not open the doors to the Great Circus.
This was done mainly due to the big regulatory changes that took place this year, but that will not be the case next year, since except for some much more minor modification, the cars will be very similar to those of this year, so that the winter tests will once again be only three days .
In this way, the teams will be able to test their single-seaters on February 23, 24 and 25, as long as the weather allows it, less than a week before the start of the season exactly on the same track, the weekend from March 3 to 5 also in Sakhir.
