Munich (dpa) – The Bambi gala is also canceled this year due to the corona pandemic. The media group Hubert Burda Media confirmed this on Friday on request. The magazine "Clap" had previously reported.
A Burda spokesman said: "A glamorous show with thousands of guests and several hundred participants cannot be reliably and safely planned under the given circumstances."
Hubert Burda Media's Bambi is one of the most important media and television awards in Germany. The award has existed since 1948. ARD has broadcast the award live on television since the mid-1990s. The contract for this expired in 2019. It is not yet known which alternative there will be in the future.
