Emiliano Zapata will have a commemorative coin of 20 pesos.

The coin, put into circulation by the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) and minted by the Casa de Moneda, is made to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of the "Caudillo del Sur" and has a dodecagonal design, latent image and micro text as security elements.

The coin has on the reverse the center of the bust of General Emiliano Zapata and in the background a peasant plowing the land. On the right is the map of the Mexican Republic and at the top, on the hat, the micro-text "TIERRA Y LIBERTAD".

In the upper semicircle appears the legend "EMILIANO ZAPATA SALAZAR" and to the left the mint of the Casa de Moneda de México and in the exergue the denomination "$ 20" and the years 1919 and 2019.

The coin is made in the central part of 65% copper, 10% nickel and 25% zinc; the shore is made of 92% copper, 6% aluminum and 2% nickel. It has a weight of 12.67 grams.

Banxico stressed that this currency is for use by the general public as a form of payment, so no business or establishment can reject it.
