BBVA Mexico users were unable to make bank transactions via SPEI or payments with CoDi since the morning of this Tuesday.

“We are fully aware of the problems that this has caused to large, medium and small companies, as well as individuals,” the bank said in a statement, adding that they were making “real efforts to solve it as soon as possible.”

The (Banxico) pointed out that from 9:34 am this Tuesday until 2:11 pm, the largest bank in Mexico by number of clients lost the connection.

Until 3:52 p.m., when the reestablishment of the service in BBVA Mexico was reported, Banxico reported that they are monitoring the proper functioning of the SPEI.

In social networks, users detected the problem not only in BBVA Mexico but also in Citibanamex; however, the Banxico site only shows the failure in the bank of Spanish origin.

Citibanamex rectified the information with Expansión and detailed that it has not affected its Fund Transfer System called SPEI.

“Our clients operate normally. In case the operations of our clients have been delayed by the process in other banks, we will give them individual solutions through the Call Center (0155) 1226 2639”, the bank informed.

The firm STP, a specialist in payment systems technologies in Mexico and with 15 years of experience connecting any company in Mexico to the SPEI of Banco de México, also reported the failure on its Twitter account.
