Blumberg – Destruction rage in the Black Forest: In short, a man decided to destroy an apartment building. The incident occurred in Blumberg on Wednesday evening (July 28, 2021), as the police reported. A 47-year-old building contractor drove a chain-driven excavator in front of the apartment building.
Then the man began to tear down balconies of the house with the excavator. He also repeatedly hit the facade of the new building, which contains around 30 apartments, with the excavator shovel. The action attracted around 50 onlookers. After finishing his destructive work, the man got in his car and drove away.

In his destructive rage, the contractor also damaged several garages with gas bottles on them. The police therefore had to cordon off the area over a large area, as damage to the gas containers could not be ruled out. Shortly after his act, the man turned himself in to the police.
