It was the 10th minute of the match in which Denmark and Belgium were measured corresponding to matchday 2 of group B of Euro 2020 when the match was stopped. From there both teams, the public and the referees merged in an emotional ovation to send encouragement to Christian Eriksen.

In Belgium Romelu Lukaku had already shown his grief over what had happened to his teammate at Inter Milan when Christian Eriksen collapsed in the clash against Finland. The Belgian striker scored two goals in the win against Russia and dedicated them to the Danish playmaker, who is thankfully out of the woods now.

Knowing this news Romelu Lukaku wanted to take advantage of the fact that his team played against Denmark , had proposed to throw the ball out in the 10th minute, Eriksen's number, to pay tribute to the Danish midfielder from Inter Milan . Finally they did not throw the ball out, but the match was stopped and the footballers, referees and fans took the opportunity to merge in an emotional ovation with their rivals.

In addition, before the ball was put into play, a giant Denmark shirt with the name Christian Eriksen was displayed on the green of the Parken Stadion in Copenhagen.
