Binder: "There is a lot of work with the 2023 KTM, but it is Dani's business"

While the Spaniard, a tester for the orange motorcycle brand, spent most of the two days of collective testing accumulating kilometers in the prototype projected for next year, Brad Binder only went out on the track twice with him , to check that everything was going according to plan and that he did not experience anything unusual.

As the #33 commented this Thursday, already from the paddock of the Aragón circuit, the new RC16 is still too young to draw conclusions about the performance it will be able to offer, even though in those few laps he could already sense a step forward in some area specific.

“In Misano I tested next year’s bike. It is still a very new prototype. The idea was for Dani to spend the day walking around with her, to gather all the information possible. I made two starts to see that there was nothing strange and that everything was going well, “said Binder.

The best lap of the two days of practice after the San Marino Grand Prix was given by Fabio Quartararo, while Brad Binder was eight tenths off the time of the reigning world champion.

“With the new bike I was almost able to match the times I had achieved with this year’s model. I was a couple of tenths away. So, for the first time, the sensations were good”, added the Potchefstroom rider, satisfied with the handling of the first version of what will be his bike next season, in which he will share a workshop with Jack Miller.

“There are different things compared to this year’s KTM, but there are not many differences. It seems to spin a bit better, something we need. There is a lot of work on that bike, but that’s up to Dani”, stressed Binder, whose best result in 2022 is the second place he achieved in Qatar, the event that opened the calendar.
