Bomb threat in Bonn: An allegedly explosive object in the Federal Office of Justice was pointed out by e-mail. The office is vacated. Now there are details.

Bonn – The Federal Office of Justice in Bonn was temporarily evacuated on Tuesday morning (February 8th, 2022) after a reference to an allegedly explosive object. The police checked the office building of the authority, among other things, with sniffer dogs. The area was also cordoned off.

But nothing of danger was found, as the officials announced a little later. The building was released again.
According to the police, the information was received by e-mail from the Federal Office. There was talk of an explosive object that should be in the building. “Criminal police investigations into the previously unknown sender have been initiated,” the police said after the end of the operation.

A possible connection with similar operations in the past few days should now be examined. On Friday (February 4th, 2022) police officers were on duty at several courthouses in North Rhine-Westphalia after bomb threats. There had been email threats everywhere.
