Bradl: "I speak with Márquez about next year's Honda"

Honda is going through difficult times in MotoGP. The once all-powerful Japanese factory is unable to raise its head, and with Marc Márquez out of the game, the results are not being remarkable.

Proof of this are the results obtained in the classification that was held this afternoon at Silverstone . Alex Márquez was the best Honda, with a 17th place. Behind, Stefan Bradl was placed in 18th place, Pol Espargaró in 19th and Takaaki Nakagami in 21st.

After Marc was sidelined indefinitely to fully recover from his arm, Honda decided that Bradl should take his place in the official team, as he had done on previous occasions.

The German, a test rider for the brand, said after qualifying for the British Grand Prix that he was not “wasting” his time “on this year’s bike”.

“It’s hard for us to go fast with it. It makes more sense for me to focus on next year’s bike than this one,” he explained.

But the fact that Marc Márquez is away from the circuits does not mean that he is not involved in the development of the 2023 RC213V .

“We hope that Marc returns to racing soon, so that he becomes actively involved in the development of the bike. In fact, he is already involved because in today’s world communication flows. I already speak with him,” revealed the former Moto2 champion.

However, Bradl feels that having to race in Grands Prix is taking away from his ability to develop . “The problem that we have found this year is that the fact that I have to race in Marc’s position has meant that I have to cancel private tests that were planned in Misano. All this has delayed the development process a bit”.

Finally, it should be noted that Stefan Bradl has received a three-position penalty for having hindered another driver during Q1, so tomorrow he will start from 21st position.
