Something dies in the soul when a friend leaves. And what a friend: none other than Burnout Paradise, one of the best driving games of all time and which for many is the masterpiece of Criterion Games , who have announced the closure of their servers after almost 12 years in operation.
In its brief but still important statement, the British study wanted to emphasize that this will only affect the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions ; and that those who own Burnout Paradise Remastered can breathe easy, since those will continue to work as they do now.
The day scheduled for the blackout is next August 1 , so if anyone is caught with high nostalgia – as one of the responses to the statement says, “I was not emotionally prepared for this tweet” -, you can hurry in taking a last few runs of goodbye online through the inimitable Paradise City .
Burnout Paradise fans, after over 11.5 years of service, the servers for the original 2008 game will be closing on August 1st 2019. That affects Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions. Offline play will still be available of course, and Burnout Paradise Remastered servers are unaffected.
