Calle Ocho Festival 2015 – March in Miami

0

One week in March, Miami is transformed into a traditional Latin street festival. Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) becomes the scene of the Carnival when more than a million spectators gather to celebrate the largest annual party in the city.

What happens on Calle Ocho? What not! One of the most interesting traditional events is the Domino Tournament, which takes place on March 15th. Held in Domino Park at the corner of SW 8th Street and SW 15th Avenue, it features intense competition as Miami's domino giants compete for cash prizes.

The big party is Sunday March 15th and is one of Miami's "don't miss" events. If you've never been to El Festival de la Ocho, you owe it to yourself to attend! The festival closes 24 blocks from SW 8th Street to host dancing, food, drink and 30 live entertainment venues. This is a great party! In 1988, the festival was the scene of a Guinness World Record, as 119,986 people joined in the longest conga line in the world.

Otherwise, go outside and join the party.
