Monte Carlo / Johannesburg – Princess Charlène * is still forced to be in South Africa. She has been stuck there for weeks for health reasons. The 43-year-old has to cure an infection. While Charlène is far from her new home, life there goes on as usual: The “Monte Carlo Gala for The Global Ocean” recently took place in Monaco – an event that Charlène has already attended in the past. She showed on Instagram that she could not be there in 2021.

Princess Charlène of Monaco published a cryptic message there. Translated, she wrote: “Just as I was born out of the ocean, the ocean was born out of me.” She also shared a video in which she wished the guests of the gala “a successful and magical moment”. The video was also accompanied by dramatic music.
At the end of the clip, a photo of Princess Charlène was shown, which she showed with a diadem on her head in the water. In addition to the sentence “Just as I was born from the ocean, the ocean was born from me” it said “I will present you a piece of both”. The princess left it open what she meant by that. Perhaps she wanted to emphasize the importance of protecting the environment.
The gala that Princess Charlène missed this year has been attended by prominent guests from Hollywood in recent years, such as Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry. The aim of the gala is to collect donations for environmental projects. Incidentally, the gala in Monte Carlo is not the first important date that Princess Charlène has missed in Monaco.
