China raises tension with Taiwan after invading its airspace with dozens of military planes

0

The tension between China and the island of Taiwan has been growing exponentially in recent days, especially at the air level. The Government of Taiwan denounces the air skirmishes that the Chinese air forces have been carrying out in recent days, with dozens and dozens of planes flying over the airspace of the Taiwanese autonomous space. At the same time, protests against China have steadily increased in recent days in the capital, Taipei, only further stirring up the Beijing regime.

Taiwan denounced this Monday that up to 56 Chinese planes entered its airspace, adding to the nearly 100 sorties last week. According to the Taiwan Defense Department, 34 J-16 fighters, twelve H-6 bombers, two Su-30 fighters, two Yun-8 transport aircraft and two KJ-500 radar aircraft have been counted. In the afternoon, another four J-16 fighters were detected.

Taiwanese forces issued radio warnings and the anti-aircraft system was activated to monitor these incursions, the Taiwan Defense Ministry explained.

A few dates ago, the Taiwanese ambassador to Spain made it clear in OKDIARIO that “for us, the support of the United States is indispensable in the face of the threat from China.” The most populous country in the world has long redoubled efforts to become the great master of the South China Sea, in a new challenge to the world order, while the United States tries to face this expansionism by promoting international alliances such as the Aukus -with the Kingdom Kingdom and Australia- or the Quad -with Japan, Australia and India-.

US condemnation

This massive incursion comes after the United States on Sunday condemned the “provocations” involved in these military incursions and warned that these entries could cause “miscalculations.” “We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan,” requested the spokesman for the US State Department, Ned Price.

“I am sure that if China attacks Taiwan, it will suffer tremendously,” Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu told Australian television ABC on Monday. “We would like to exchange security and defense information with like-minded partners, including Australia, so that Taiwan is better prepared to deal with the war situation,” he added.

China urges the US not to support “the separatists”

For its part, Beijing on Monday warned Washington to stop supporting the “Taiwan separatists.” The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hua Chunying, recalled that the United States “must strictly adhere to the principle of one China, abide by three joint Sino-US communiqués and treat matters related to Taiwan with caution,” he said.

“It is necessary that the United States stop supporting the separatist forces that are demonstrating in favor of the independence of Taiwan and take concrete steps to safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait,” he stressed.

In response to these interferences, China has threatened all necessary measures to prevent any plans to achieve Taiwan’s independence. “The decision and the will of China to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity are immovable ,” he stressed.

The Chinese government released a harsh statement on Thursday denouncing the international efforts of Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu to endorse the island’s independence as “acts of a whiner” and “not much more important than the buzz of the flies “, according to the Taipei Times portal. It should be remembered that China considers the island part of its territory although it has been governed by independent authorities since 1949 .
