Three men have been arrested in connection with the find. Police don’t know where the drugs came from.
Cape Town – The South African police have seized cocaine worth the equivalent of 23.5 million euros near the tourist metropolis of Cape Town.
The drugs were found in a truck at a highway rest stop, said Zinzi Hani, spokeswoman for the Hawks special unit, on Friday. Three men were arrested in connection with the find.
The origin of the cocaine was initially unclear on Friday. South Africa is a popular drug transit point due to its international trade links with countries in Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America, as well as Africa’s country with the best road infrastructure and most modern ports. dpa
