Rome / Brescia (dpa) – In the case of two dead on Lake Garda after a suspected boat collision, the Italian police are investigating two Germans from Munich. The Carabinieri confirmed this on Monday when asked.
The judicial authorities continued to investigate the case. As Italian media reported on Sunday and Monday, the woman (25) and the man (37) are said to have died in a boat collision. The police did not provide any information about the cause of the impact.
According to the reports, the suspects were said to have been on a motorboat. At Saló they had therefore rammed the small boat of the dead. It was also reported that they fled after the collision without helping. The local man’s body was discovered in the boat early Sunday morning, and that of the woman was later recovered from the lake. According to the media, the accusation is, among other things, manslaughter and failure to provide assistance.
