Conflict between Jerusalem and Gaza: Greta Thunberg expresses herself – and receives massive criticism

0

The bombings between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas are escalating. Greta Thunberg comments on it – and is hostile.

Jerusalem / Stockholm – Greta Thunberg commented on Twitter about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas – and is now being criticized for it. The Swedish climate activist shared a tweet on Monday evening (May 10, 2021) from Naomi Klein, a Canadian author who accuses Israel of “one war crime at a time”. Thunberg headed this with the words: “It was devastating to follow the developments in Jerusalem and Gaza.”

For example, Volker Beck, a former Green Party politician, reacted as follows: “Do you have anything to say about Hamas rocket attacks and their positive influence on the climate?” Said Beck. Daniel Mack, a former member of the Green Party in the Hessian state parliament, asked: “Not a word about Hamas’ rocket terror?”

In addition to the fact that Thunberg failed to mention attacks by the terrorist organization Hamas, the original tweet by globalization critic Naomi Klein was also the target of criticism. Klein supports the so-called “BDS” movement (BDS stands for boycott, divestment and sanctions), which advocates a boycott of Israel.

In addition to Greta Thunberg, Fridays for Future also made a statement on Twitter. The organization shared a tweet from the association “Paliroots”. These are activists who promote the “BDS” movement. The shared post features a map of Israel showing the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in Palestinian colors. The Twitter audience speculated whether this was an indication of the lack of recognition of the Israeli state.

The conflict between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas is currently reaching a new level of escalation. The reason for this was an impending eviction, against which Palestinians had demonstrated in the east of Jerusalem. An Israeli court ruled earlier this year that these houses belong to Jewish families. (do)
