The RKI announces the daily updated Corona case numbers for Germany. The number of new infections remains high.
Berlin / Frankfurt – The nationwide seven-day incidence has again fallen compared to the previous day. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated the value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Thursday (December 16, 2021) as 340.1. On Tuesday the incidence was 375, yesterday Wednesday the value had fallen to 355. Details in brief.

Experts point out possible underreporting
When assessing the incidence of infection, it should be borne in mind that experts are currently assuming a noticeable underreporting. Health authorities and clinics can no longer keep up with reporting cases, at least in individual regions.
