The RKI reports the current figures on the corona situation in Germany on a daily basis. How is the data on new infections, deaths and incidence developing?

The RKI last stated the value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Wednesday morning (January 5th, 2022) as 258.6. For today’s Thursday (January 6th, 2022) the number is given as 285.9.

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI’s Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.

RKI informs about lower test and reporting activity

“During the holidays and at the turn of the year, it should be noted when interpreting the number of cases that less test and reporting activity can be expected, so that the data shown in the dashboard and management report could only provide an incomplete picture of the epidemiological situation in Germany.”
