According to official data, the countries most affected by number of cases are the following: the United States (41.5 million), India (33.1 million) and Brazil (20.9 million). Despite the impact of the coronavirus in the world, there are countries that to date have not registered a single case within their borders .
Turkmenistan
According to official data, in Turkmenistan there are zero registered cases of Covid-19 , although suspicions indicate that there could be thousands of infected people.
Journalists and international organizations have been denouncing the censorship imposed by the authorities for months, to the point of banning the use of the word “coronavirus.” The police have an order to arrest anyone who pronounces it on the street.
Journalists working for ‘Radio Azatlyk’ have pointed out on different occasions that there are cases of people with serious respiratory problems in hospitals , but the authorities point out that it is a “common respiratory problem.”
North Korea
North Korea is governed by one of the strictest dictatorial regimes in the world. A hermetic country that to date has not notified a single case of coronavirus to the World Health Organization . However, in the opinion of experts, due to its long border with China and the weakness of the North Korean health system, it is most likely that the virus has entered the country.
The digital medium ‘Daily NK’ has brought to light the alleged creation of a new camp for North Koreans who violate the rules of confinement due to the coronavirus . According to this medium, the authorities of the Kim Jong-un regime are sending people who skip the quarantine to this camp, a kind of political prison camp .
Nauru
Nauru is an island located in the Pacific Ocean where there has not been a single case of coronavirus in the entire pandemic . In addition, it has been the first sovereign state in the world to have vaccinated its entire population against Covid-19.
