0

In Spain, DAZN F1 (and Movistar +, which is the same content) is the only legal way to watch Formula 1 in 2022, and the voices and faces that will cover the World Cup this year are already known.

The biggest novelty is the incorporation of Melissa Jimenez , a 34-year-old Catalan journalist who already covered the MotoGP World Championship, and who has been chosen by DAZN, thus confirming that rumor that the new voice of F1 would be the popular streamer Cristinini It was not true.

Melissa Jiménez (born in Belgium, in 1987) worked at Marca TV, before switching to motorcycles with the Italian Sky and signing for Mediaset in 2013 until the beginning of 2016. Her father is a renowned MotoGP engineer and, although his precious value is how well he performs in the paddock (with a perfect command of English and Italian), as a personal data he is a partner of Tom Claessen, director of the Van Amersfoort Racing team that this year competes in Formula 2 and Formula 3.

Melissa Jimenez will be one of those in charge of traveling to all the circuits for each race. She will be the reporter in charge of doing interviews, collecting statements and videos with the pilots that are broadcast during the weekend.

Beyond Melissa, the DAZN F1 team has only undergone a couple of tweaks. The main trio that will narrate and commentate on the 2022 races will continue to be made up of the journalist Antonio Lobato , the driver Pedro de la Rosa and the former engineer of teams such as HRT, BMW Sauber or Ferrari, Toni Cuquerella . The gap in free practice left by the director of Motorsport.com, Jacobo Vega , who decided not to continue, will be filled by Roldán Rodríguez , who was already commenting on the promotional races.

Albert Fabrega will continue his analysis and interviews in the Formula 1 paddock, and will also be on the circuits. Noemí de Miguel will occupy the role that Nira Juanco had until last year, who becomes deputy director of DAZN F1 and will not be in front of the cameras on set.

Formula 2 and Formula 3 will be narrated by Miguel Portillo , who will not travel to the circuits.

In addition, on Thursdays ‘Around the world with Albert Fàbrega’ will be released, where the countries and circuits that the F1 championship attends will be discovered.

After the Bahrain tests were narrated in full by Miguel Portillo with the contribution of Noemí de Miguel, Nira Juanco, Roldán Rodríguez and more members of DAZN, the new DAZN F1 team opens this weekend at the Bahrain GP that opens the course.

In case you missed it, before the resounding signing of Melissa Jiménez, DAZN announced another bomb signing for MotoGP for 2022, that of Jorge Lorenzo.

The new addition to DAZN F1 spoke about what he hoped for this exciting course of the Great Circus: “I am very excited to join the DAZN F1 team. I am really looking forward to starting and facing this new challenge.”

“Through my work, I want the fans to feel as if they were in the paddock, to ‘transport’ them to each circuit, to know all the ins and outs of day-to-day life in the pits and on the track and to live with fascination everything that surrounds the competition,” said Melissa Jiménez.

How much is DAZN worth to watch F1 in Spain?

As DAZN has already communicated to its partners, after the new agreement with Movistar +, the fees will rise for this season to €12.99 per month or €129.99 per year. We remind you that for that price you can not only access Formula 1 , but you will also have at your disposal the motorcycling world championship (MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3) as well as a multitude of sports and championships, among others, football, basketball, tennis or handball.

That price of DAZN will increase from August, when the matches of the Spanish Football League enter its content portfolio, but from the platform they will allow you to contract only the current package, without football, and not be affected by that future increase.

How to watch Formula 1 2022 in Latin America?

The 2022 Formula 1 season will be different from the previous ones in terms of television broadcasts in Latin America.

Since FOX Sports Mexico no longer belongs to the Disney Group after sale to Grupo Lauman in the second half of last year, the rights will no longer be shared with the platform of the American company Star + as in 2021.

Now, FOX Sports Mexico has exclusive rights to broadcasts of the highest category for Mexican territory. They will give all the races, free practices and classifications live through their different channels.

The rest of Latin America will continue to broadcast on ESPN and, in some territories, on FOX Sports, a company that is not linked to the company of the same name in Mexico. The sessions will also be live on these channels, in addition to having the option of Star + for these territories.

The F1 TV platform will maintain its broadcasts in Latin America with its two options, with the so-called F1 TV Pro package as the most complete of both, offering broadcasts without commercial breaks, the possibility of following the complete timing system through the application , as well as access to the cameras on board the different drivers that make up the starting grid. Session replays, historical archive are part of the package.

The F1 TV app is available for Android and iOS systems, as well as Roku devices. The subscription can be annual or monthly and the price depends on the contracting country.

Formula 2 and Formula 3 races will also be available both on the category platform and on the aforementioned television channels.
