The Italian will be one of the five riders who will debut in MotoGP next season. Last week, Fabio Di Giannantonio already had his first contact with the premier class in the two days of testing in Jerez. The Roman rider will be in the Gresini team and will once again be a teammate of Enea Bastianini, whom he already knew from his time in Moto3.

The first sensations were incredible for the rookie , who once he got off the bike was enthusiastic about the new adventure that awaits him. Looking at the time sheet, Diggia did not finish among the best, although the goal was to adapt to the new bike and familiarize himself with the electronics. The first conclusions were positive.

“I am very happy to have started the second day as we left the first. In the first start I was already fast, I equaled the time of the previous afternoon. I am very happy because it means that we have already learned something from the first day”, said the #49 , who finished 19th, 1.6s off the lead, although he was the best of the rookies .

“We started to work a bit on the electronics, which seems to be the key in MotoGP, and for me it’s all new. We try to understand where to improve, where to give more or less power, and all the controls that we have. I improved the sensations, but it was It was a pity that the day was ruined by the wind, the conditions were a bit critical, there was a lot of grip, but also a lot of wind, especially in the fast corners, with the wings the bike is difficult to control, but in general I am very happy, I’m riding a MotoGP bike!” said Fabio.

The Jerez test reinvigorated the Rome test, which revealed that he arrived at the last Grand Prix in Valencia a little exhausted: “Honestly, on the way to Valencia I felt very tired mentally. But now I don’t want to stop. I have touched the new toy and I would like to continue, maybe do more tests or even a race, but it’s also good to take a break to rest your body and mind and prepare well for the new season. Sure I will have to train a lot, not much more than before, but I will have to do it because MotoGP is tough. However, I will be ready!”

Next season he will be with the Gresini team, with whom he has already been in the two small classes: “The Gresini team believed in me from the beginning, it gave me the opportunity to reach the world championship, to achieve great results in Moto3, then in Moto2 and now debuting in the premier class. It’s something incredible, so I’m very grateful.”
