The start of the digital vaccination records in Hamburg got off to a bumpy start. Many pharmacy customers went away empty-handed – because the branches lacked important data.
Hamburg – According to the German Pharmacists’ Association (DAV), the issuing of digital vaccination certificates in pharmacies has started successfully. By 11:00 a.m., 140,000 certificates had already been issued, said DAV chairman Thomas Dittrich on Monday. More than 13,000 pharmacies offer the service, that is more than two thirds of all pharmacies.
In Hamburg, however, there was not much of this to be felt, where many pharmacists and customers were frustrated with the chaos of vaccination records *. In many branches, the registration codes were not yet available that are required to log into the portal of the German Pharmacists’ Association (DAV). But this is necessary so that customers can be issued with the digital vaccination certificate.
The digital proof is a voluntary addition to the yellow paper vaccination book that is still valid. Germany is thus implementing a project of the European Union. For this purpose, uniform details of a certificate were agreed with which one can prove vaccinations, tests and survived Covid-19 diseases.
