A team of scientists from the University of Arizona has just completed a study in which they have compared the genetic fingerprint of 1,000 subjects with some physiological traits . After establishing a series of equivalences, they have obtained a sophisticated model that allows deducing, from the letters of an individual's DNA, what is the color of their skin, eyes or hair.
"Our results have immediate application for forensic science , since it will be possible to quickly know the appearance of a suspect from a DNA sample obtained at the crime scene, without the need for witnesses," explains Murray Brilliant, co-author of the study. to be published in the next issue of the Journal of Forensic Science .
